Is it safe?

This is the first question we always get asked.  Yes it's safe, the liquid nitrogen evaporates and long before you ever eat any of your ice cream.  The air we breath contains 78% nitrogen so it is completely harmless to the human body.  The dangers of liquid nitrogen is it's temperature.  It's boiling point is -320 degrees Fahrenheit which is why we use it to make ice cream because it will instantly turn our cream into ice cream.  Health Canada has certified liquid nitrogen for food preparation.  Many of the frozen foods you buy at the store were frozen with nitrogen as it will flash freeze food locking in all the nutrients and flavours.

Why do you use liquid nitrogen?

We use liquid nitrogen as it is so cold that it rapidly freezes the cream.  This process creates a product with very small ice crystals which is what gives our ice cream that very smooth texture.  It also allows us to give you a completely custom product right down to the ice cream base.  This means anyone, even those with certain food sensitivities can finally enjoy our ice cream.  By flash freezing your ice cream we can make you exactly what you want when you want it.  It's also so amazingly cool to watch and that just adds to the experience.

How many flavours do you have?

Well we can't easily answer that question.  it's dependent on the number of toppings we have.  But we will also let you bring your own toppings so the combinations of toppings is almost endless.

What kind of bases do you have?

A.


We have several kinds of bases available.

  • Our Premium base is made in house with only fresh cream, sugar, and real vanilla extract.  It contains no preservatives, stabilizers, or fillers.  It gives a very light fresh flavour.  However because it doesn't contain any additives you might find it melts a little faster
  • Our Regular base is a premixed ice cream base very much like soft serve ice cream.  We purchase this premade and serve it to you to as is.  It's a much thicker and creamy product.
  • Our Low Fat base is made in house with only fresh light cream, sugar and real vanilla extract.  It contains no preservatives, stabilizers, or fillers.  It gives a very light fresh flavour.  However because it doesn't contain any additives you might find it melts a little faster
  • Our Soy / Coconut / Almond base is made using Soy / Coconut / Almond milk.  Because it's not cream it's more like a sorbet but is a great alternative to our cream base depending on your preferences.

Are you nut free?

Our store is not nut free because we do have nut toppings in the store.  However our premium and low fat bases do not contain any nuts and we are able to make you an ice cream that does not contain nuts so even those with nut allergies can enjoy a nice cold dessert.  We take every precaution to wash our bowls, spades, spoons and hands to serve you a nut free ice cream.  That being said we absolutely cannot guarantee a 100% nut free product as the facility we purchase our products from it not a certified nut free facility and as mentioned we do have nut products in our store.  So depending on the severity of any allergies you may have it may not be recommended.
